Evaluation on the SPT Based Design Approach for Shallow Foundations

This research evaluated four SPT-based design equations used to estimate the carrying capacity of shallow footing. Using different methods, two plate load tests performed on silty clay and soil in Nasiriyah have been obtain ultimate load-carrying capacity. Further, this study aims utilize finite element method based Plaxis 3D foundation software simulate behavior settlement with actual dimensions. It was concluded that numerical analysis methods showed a good convergence test results, where results were 67 65 ton/m 2 for projects, respectively. The field values 70 projects number possibilities determining failure areas give sufficient picture expectations. boundary influence zone obtained by has functioned as an proposed new equation which gave measured bearing values.
